Nasekomo just shipped its first order of insect protein to an animal feed producer! We are so proud of this achievement which wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our team!
The shipment is also a reality because of the fact that we now have all the needed permits to produce and sell insect products – a feat that not too many companies in the EU insect industry have achieve as of yet!
Nasekomo becomes one of six companies accepted in the accelerator with focus on developing sustainable startups and their ideas. The Climate-KIC Bulgaria accelerator is administered by Cleantech Bulgaria.
The accelerator provides funding for Nasekomo to work on its one-of-a-kind industrial-scale insect-rearing prototype. Throughout the next 6 months we will fully develop the prototype, and it will allow us to increase our production capacities by 20+ times.
Nasekomo is proud to be a member of the accelerator and the Cleantech Bulgaria and Climate-KIC families.
Nasekomo participated in this exciting evening event by showcasing our insect of choice, the Black Soldier Fly and describing its benefits for the future of our planet.
One of our co-founders, Marc Bolard also took part in the round table “The Circular Economy in Words and Pictures” where he talked about the role of insect farming in the circular economy.
Nasekomo was honored to win the Startup Award at a special event organized by the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce. The awards focused on all the innovation that Bulgarian companies develop in Bulgaria, and Nasekomo was among several very worthy contestants for the Startup Award.
All three of our cofouders took the stage to accept the award. They spoke to what the recognition means for our company and also described the innovations we develop for a better future for us and our environment.
For its 60th Anniversary, the European Investment bank organized an Investment conference in Sofia, Bulgaria. Our Olya Marcenac introduced Nasekomo as part of the panel discussion on improving the capacity of Bulgarian companies to invest and innovate. The panel was chaired by Anita Fuerstenberg-Lucius, Director Central and South Eastern Europe, EIB.
Olya shared her thoughts in regards to what challenges await Bulgarian companies on their way to growth and the capture of market share, and how they can attract talent, especially in such innovative sectors as the insect industry.
We just moved into our brand-new office in the business heart of Sofia, Bulgaria!
Our new premises were designed with nature in mind and will accommodate the planned expansion of our team.
Nasekomo won the prestigious award for social entrepreneurship competing with other socially-responsible companies from Bulgaria. Now, it’s off to Amsterdam for the global finals in May, where we will be among representatives of 27 other countries!
Every year, the Chivas Venture gives away $1 million in no-strings funding to social entrepreneurs, who blend profit with purpose to have a positive impact on the world. They are looking for entrepreneurs on a mission to solve the world’s biggest social and environmental issues.
