Nasekomo to present EcoeFISHent at IFW

02 Jun 2026

As part of the upcoming Insect to Feed the World (IFW), which is one of the leading global conferences in our field, Nasekomo will present its work within the Horizon Europe initiative: the project EcoeFISHent.

EcoeFISHent brings together industry and research partners to explore how fish processing side-streams can be transformed into valuable outputs across sectors such as agriculture, biomaterials, and cosmetics.

Within this framework, insect bioconversion plays a central role. At Nasekomo, we contribute with our expertise in black soldier fly biology and industrial processes—working on how these marine side-streams can be efficiently converted into products such as organic fertilizers, oils, and chitin, and integrated into scalable circular value chains.

Over the past months, our R&D Manager, Marco Tejeda, has been closely involved in driving our participation in the project. His upcoming presentation at IFW builds directly on this work, sharing insights from the process itself.

Events like Insect to Feed the World show how closely science and industry need to move together. Having been part of previous editions, Nasekomo continues to engage in this dialogue—because turning scientific insight into real-world application is key to building scalable, efficient, and sustainable solutions in our field.
